New AP/RC Artist: Jeffrey Dell

The AP/RC added several new works by printmaker Jeffrey Dell. Dell prints many of his works on Yupo paper, sometimes on both sides which creates an ethereal glow around the edge of the image. Along with several screen prints, Dell also donated four large scale mezzotints that would make the wrists of any printmaker familiar with the process sympathetically ache.

The artist notes on his web site that, “My work over the last few years engages themes of human desire and its effects on perception, impulse, appetite, and health. I am earnest about the playfulness in the work, and I rarely want to mean only one thing in an image. I continue to love the way two-dimensional images elicit just what I thought they would not.”
