Betty Hahn

Betty Hahn received her first camera when she was 10. This gift led her to a lifetime in photography, particularly experimental and alternative processes. After she earned her graduate degree at Indiana University she moved to Rochester, NY where she participated in workshops with Nathan Lyon. These workshops focused on snapshots as fine art photography during a time when many photographers were making exclusively silver gelatin prints. This influence can be seen in Hahn’s recent donations to the AP/RC.

In 1975 Hahn started teaching photography at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque until her retirement in 1997.
