Carlos Hernandez compels attention. His enthusiastic visual adventures into 1950s and 60s photo-imagery, throbbing compositions, and explosive colors dance and shout. Hernandez can often be found, along with his print shop collaborator, Patrick Masterson, at Burning Bones Press in Houston, Texas. As the name implies, this print studio burns with the production of editioned work and an array of workshops that explore new ways of making prints, while Houston and nearby artists daily slip in and out of the shop’s doors. If you have not visited this shop or seen the work being created there, change your route and head to the Heights in Houston.
