Print Closeup: Thomas Stubbs

Thomas Stubbs’ print, Reluctance To, came to the AP/RC by way of the 1991 ColorPrint USA exhibition organized and curated by Lynwood Kreneck. The lithograph depicts a bound figure in multidimensional, Cubist-like iterations of time and space. Ropes and bindings bite into legs and arms. Originally rendered in lithographic crayon on a stone, several of the details below reflect on the subtle drawing.
